WHAT IS MECHANICAL VENTILATION WITH HEAT RECOVERY UNITS (MVHR)?
Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) units work by continuously drawing stale, humid air from areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms while simultaneously supplying filtered air to living spaces such as bedrooms and lounges. Inside the unit, these two airflows pass through a heat exchanger, which transfers most of the heat from the outgoing stale air to the incoming new air without mixing the two streams. This means that the incoming air enters the home pre-warmed, significantly reducing the need for additional heating.
The system operates using a network of ducts connected to a central unit, with balanced fans ensuring that the amount of air extracted matches the amount supplied, maintaining consistent pressure in the property. By recovering typically 70–95% of the heat from exhaust air, MVHR units improve energy efficiency, maintain comfortable temperatures, and deliver a steady supply of clean air while minimising heat loss – an especially important feature in modern, airtight homes.
HOW DO OUR MVHR UNITS HELP?
Many modern properties are built to be highly airtight, resulting in insufficient ventilation, which can lead to poor indoor air quality, excess humidity, and condensation issues. Our HAVA systems are specifically designed to address these challenges by continuously supplying filtered, pre-warmed air while extracting stale, moisture-laden air, ensuring a healthy and energy-efficient living environment.
- Continuously supplying filtered, pre-warmed air while extracting stale, moisture-laden air, ensuring a healthy and energy-efficient living environment.
- Models are available for ceiling, false-ceiling, or vertical wall installations with compact, low-profile designs.
- Multi-functional remote-control panel for speed selection, boost mode, filter reset, and alarm management.
- Highly efficient units with very low energy use and high heat recovery efficiency to Energy Consumption Class A or A+.
